Multifunctional Event Venue – Easily Manage 32 Flexible Room Configurations!
The building is characterized by functionality and modularity, combined with state-of-the-art event technology and building automation. The challenge in this project was that the building automation system had to be adapted to the flexible use of the rooms.
To achieve these objectives, DEOS AG’s BACnet products were deployed. These control the various central and decentralized building functions and integrate all systems: lighting, stage technology, shading, HVAC, heat recovery ventilation, meter connectivity, etc.
Thanks to the simple and rapid programming by Fiehn and the DEOS products used, the set goal was achieved without any problems.
Two central ventilation units for the building areas are equipped as full air-conditioning systems with heat recovery, heating and cooling sequences, and humidification. Individual room control and the integration of other systems such as electrical or event technology are handled via BACnet.
Four OPEN EMS 4100 (DEOS BACnet DDC) units were used in this project. The event organizer accesses the room control functions via a tablet PC. Ventilation is sometimes controlled via CO₂-regulated, variable air volume controllers. Based on the specified hall configurations, the corresponding zones are formed and ventilated via CO₂ control.
Numerous messages and monitoring data are transmitted via BACnet to the DEOS GLT OPENweb and visualized. Third-party controllers, such as those for event technology, were also visualized on the GLT via BACnet.
The energy consumption of the various rooms and hall configurations is transparently recorded via 56 M-Bus energy meters.
To connect the third-party systems, approximately 2,600 BACnet objects are visualized on the controllers. The building management system runs on an in-house server and monitors around 3,600 data points. Remote access has been implemented to enable simple and cost-effective service access.
