Scalable building management – energy-efficient control of HVAC systems
Today more than ever, intelligent and scalable building management is crucial for energy-efficient, sustainable and economical building operation. Particularly in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, targeted control and monitoring can realize enormous savings potential – both in existing and new buildings. As the complexity of modern buildings increases, so does the demand for flexible and expandable systems that can be individually adapted.
DEOS offers tailor-made solutions for this: from a building management system (BMS) for very small projects, to the classic BMS for building automation projects, through to cloud connection with high demands on flexibility and security. Modular systems and high scalability ensure that both small systems and large, networked properties can be controlled efficiently.
Onboard GLT/MBE OPENview for small projects
OPENview is the integrated HTML5 web server on all controllers in the OPEN EMS family and enables platform-independent access via the internet or intranet. It offers control and configuration of individual DEOS controllers – ideal for the energy-efficient operation of small projects such as schools or branches. As requirements grow, it can be seamlessly expanded to the BMS OPENweb Cloud from 500 data points.
BACnet building management system OPENweb
The web-based, B-AWS-certified BACnet building management system OPENweb specializes in the monitoring and control of HVAC systems as well as room and zone control – locally or mobile via desktop client, app or browser (HTML5). A graphical visualization provides a complete overview, while intelligent control strategies support energy-efficient operation. Faults and alarms are recorded and automatically forwarded via the Event Control Center (ECC).
Whether secure remote maintenance, simple integration or cross-location networking – OPENweb adapts flexibly to individual project requirements and can be used both locally and as a cloud solution.
OPENweb Cloud – Building management technology in the cloud
OPENweb Cloud eliminates the need for cost-intensive local server hardware, complex installations, regular updates and additional personnel costs for maintaining and operating BMS systems. The central cloud architecture enables a high degree of flexibility: new locations and their connections can be integrated quickly and easily. Regardless of the size of the HVAC system – use is possible from as few as 500 data points and is therefore also suitable for smaller projects. This means that even compact systems have access to the extensive functions of a modern building management system. The cloud solution combines the highest IT security standards with a modern service model. Preconfigured connect boxes ensure optimum protection against cyber attacks and guarantee a secure connection to the systems. At the same time, the system is based on the principle of “software as a service”: the building management system is provided either on powerful DEOS servers or in a dedicated cloud, continuously updated and professionally supported by IT experts.

OPENweb local
OPENweb enables networking via local installations.
- Local server with an installation of OPENweb in each location that is to be networked
- Access to individual locations via dial-in via VPN tunnel
- All recorded data is stored locally on the respective servers of the end customer/system partner
- For strict IT guidelines: Self-sufficient network without dependencies on the Internet or service providers
- IT specialists are required to set up and maintain the network and servers
The right solution for every need
Intuitive operating concept
The graphical operating concept of the BMS is designed for simple and intuitive use. Whether on a PC, smartphone or tablet – OPENweb can be used flexibly. The standardized graphical display of the systems makes operation much easier and enables users without special prior knowledge to monitor and control room and system parameters.
Innovative message management
OPENweb ‘s message management enables efficient and clear processing of system messages such as alarms or faults. These are displayed, filtered and prioritized centrally in the Event Control Center (ECC). Automatic forwarding via the event server – e.g. by SMS or email – ensures fast responses and energy-optimized system operation.

Frequently asked questions
You have questions, we have answers. Here we present the most frequently asked questions about scalable building management.
What is the difference between OPENview and OPENweb?
Your Subtitle Goes Here
OPENweb is the central BMS/MBE for higher-level control, monitoring and optimization of the entire building automation system. OPENview, on the other hand, is an onboard BMS for individual buildings or system sections – ideal for smaller projects or local operating stations.
What advantages does the DEOS Secure Connect Portal offer system integrators?
Your Subtitle Goes Here
System integrators can manage systems centrally, perform remote maintenance and even carry out software updates – without having to go on site. This saves time, reduces costs and increases the speed of response in the event of faults or maintenance requirements.
Is OPENweb BACnet/SC certified?
Your Subtitle Goes Here
Yes, OPENweb 12 is BACnet/SC certified and can be used as a BACnet/SC hub, failover hub or node.
What operating options does OPENweb offer?
Your Subtitle Goes Here
The OPENweb operating concept is based on three options:
- Web client for platform-independent access with intuitive user interface.
- Desktop client with extensive configuration options.
- Android app for operation, e.g. on the control cabinet or mobile.
Can I move existing OPENweb systems to the cloud?
Your Subtitle Goes Here
Yes, this is possible without any problems. The existing OPENweb system can be converted into a cloud MBE with little effort. All you need is a DEOS Connect Box to set up the connection.
