STCI food wholesalers, Lebanon
STCI is one of the leading food wholesalers in Lebanon, specialising in dairy products. The company’s products can be found in all Lebanese market segments through a diverse network of distribution channels. The products are also exported to countries in the Middle East, e.g. the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
In the food industry, in particular, there are strict requirements regarding climatic conditions. To meet these challenges, the client opted for technology from DEOS to control and monitor the special cold rooms, generators and the refrigeration plant. Not only does this technology monitor all eight cold rooms for temperature, humidity and door status, it also measures the electrical energy while keeping the technicians informed about the current status by way of e-mail notifications. OPEN 600 EMS and OPEN IO modules were used for this purpose and supplemented with OPENview software.
MORECO cold storage, Lebanon
MORECO offers a wide variety of cold storage facilities to meet the respective requirements. The entire warehouse spans a total surface area of 13,000 m² and provides 30,000 m³ of storage space. Temperatures down to -25 degrees Celsius can be achieved. With a cooling capacity of 150% in standby mode, MORECO guarantees safe storage for its customers under all conditions.
In this special climatic environment, DEOS AG provided the building management system, including the complete control and monitoring of the cold rooms and cooling system. The temperature and humidity in the 31 cold storage rooms, the 5 groups of refrigeration compressors, the electricity meter and the gas, water and oil pressure are monitored in an integrated manner. In the event of deviations or malfunctions, the responsible staff are notified directly by e-mail so that they can act quickly and effectively. In addition to our DDC controllers 810 and 600, 10 of our OPEN IO modules were also used.
Grafenegg Castle, Austria
The four-winged Grafenegg Castle near Vienna is famous worldwide for its concerts and spacious parkland.
To deliver optimal air conditioning for this large project, the DEOS system partner R+S Group decided to use SRUs. Hence the 11 seminar and rehearsal rooms of the Castle are equipped with a large number of these controllers. In addition to the historic building structure, the challenge here lay in providing a climatically and acoustically insulated construction, which ensures that directly adjacent rehearsals do not disturb each other. The highlight of the facility – the auditorium with concert hall for 1,300 guests – was also equipped with this technology. In like manner, the large and small concert halls and the restaurant in the surrounding park buildings are also controlled by DEOS products and the air conditioning system is monitored via the central DEOS OPENweb building management system.
Tetra Pak packaging manufacturer, Singapore
Tetra Pak of Singapore – the international producer of beverage cartons – has one of the world’s largest packaging material factories. In addition, the Singapore site has its own research and development centre and the second most visited information centre. The latter also houses the competence centre for soya, coconut and plant based beverages – unique in the world.

JTC State Property Management, Singapore
Based in Jurong, the state-owned property company JTC is responsible for the development and management of industrial areas and related facilities in Singapore. The building is also home to the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The headquarters has 31 floors and a total of 56,669 m².
Escala Salcedo residential building, Philippines
The large residential building Escala Salcedo is located in the immediate vicinity of a spacious park in the city of Makati. It has a total area of approximately 1,864 m² and accommodates not only numerous residential units but also a fitness area, swimming pool and large function room.
Avida Tower Verta residential building, Philippines
This 23-storey residential building lies to the north of Bonifacio Global City. In addition to apartments, the complex includes a large outdoor pool, fitness centre and large garden with children’s playground.
Mayapada Hospital, Indonesia
Mayapada Hospital in Jakarta is one of the most modern hospitals in the Mayapada hospital group. The hospital was built on 3.8 acres and consists of 10 floors. The building complex contains state-of-the-art operating theatres, laboratories, patient rooms and various specialist clinics, including medical equipment.
Kroma Tower residential building, Philippines
The Kroma Tower is located in the Makati Central Business District in the heart of Makati City. On a total of 47 floors, in addition to 821 residential units, 1,600 m² are also reserved for municipal facilities. The Kroma Tower has a total area of 3,613 m². On the first two floors, residents find numerous retail stores and restaurants. This living experience is rounded off by a spacious park landscape and a nine-storey parking facility.
Ipoh Parade shopping centre, Malaysia
The modern Ipoh shopping centre is located in the heart of the historic city of Perak. With a total of 216 retail outlets and a net rentable area of 58,035 m², it is the largest of its kind. With a diverse range of branded retail outlets, entertainment options and restaurants, it is a hugely popular destination for both tourists and residents of surrounding communities. In addition, major events regularly take place in the shopping centre. A special highlight is the largest LED advertising screen on the exterior facade of the Ipoh Parade.
DoubleDragon Plaza commercial property, Philippines
DoubleDragon Plaza offers modern office space for a large number of companies. A rental area of 280,000 m². was created. Starting with an 11-storey office complex with over 130,000 m² and four office towers, the surface area is now 4.75 hectares. By the time the large scale project is complete, the area will be expanded to around 33.4 hectares. During the planning phase, special attention was paid to the green building concept; hence the building complexes save the company’s resources, ultimately saving money, and sustainably protect the environment.
The combined open-air and indoor swimming pool is the largest bath in Worms. The combination bath offers for the active swimmer as well as for families an interesting proposal for an experience-rich stay.

State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

Superior Court Berlin, Germany
On a total surface of 35,000 m² 460 rooms are controled by means of the OPEN EMS system of DEOS AG.
As this building is a historical monument, it was not allowed to install additional conduits for the necessary networking. Therefore, BACnet EnOcean radio relay stations with room sensors were used.
TEEKANNE GmbH & Co. KG, Germany
This German company, which is a world leader in today production of tee bags, supports introducing an energy management system by using OPENenergy. 65 meters are connected in order to document and monitor electrical and heat energy consumption. OPENenergy also regulates the compressed air used in production equipment, as well as regulating with the building consumption is. Consumption savings are identified and implemented using various reports that can be generated for analytical purposes and to constantly control the consumption values.
Headquarters STABILO, Germany
The renowned Nuremberg producer of writing instruments and cosmetic products is focusing its energy management on OPENenergy.
Energy monitoring software provides consumption and costs of more than 50 meters clearly displayed in graphics and tables, which can neither be viewed on the dashboard or can be printed as a report. Thus, irregularity can be detected in a timely manner, and potential savings identified.
Georg Utz GmbH, Germany
The German subsidiary of this international manufacturer that produces containers for storage and freight transport, including workpiece holders and pallets made of recyclable plastic uses OPENenergy to monitor its energy consumption.
One hundred meters record production, storage and staff facilities consumption and, together with the updated data from manual reading, create the basis for various reports. The Dashboard monitors current measured values and consumption, including selected meters.
Optimization potential can be identified by analyzing the collected data. This makes OPENenergy helpful for actively managing energy.
Ice arena O’Brien Group Arena, Australia
The venue contains two Olympic sized ice rinks, state-of-the-art sound and light systems, stadium seating for up to 1,000 people, specialist winter sports gym and a café, bar and function rooms.
The HVAC control system for the airside plant is the OPEN EMS DDC control system manufactured by DEOS AG in Rheine, Germany and distributed on licence in Australia by DEOS Australia. The DEOS control system has been selected for this project above all else because of its exclusive ability in Australia to run the COBAOPT System (today: OPENdynamics), also developed in Germany.
The HVAC-system had to ensure a temperature on the ice of -2 °C, 1.5 m above ice 14 °C for human comfort. Additional challenges were the stratification issues that come with a > 10m high ceiling and the heat transfer to and melting of ice. There have to be realized two change of states at ice. In simplest possible terms the COBAOPT System uses a unique control algorithm to create uniform mixing of the air molecules. The result is an even temperature spread throughout occupied space and energy savings on the operation of the HVAC plant.
VR-Bank Steinfurt eG, Germany

An advanced building automation solution at VR-Bank Kreis Steinfurt eG’s new main office in Rheine provides for user-oriented management of all essential building functions.
Theatre Neue Flora, Germany
The two architects Uwe Köhnholdt and Konstantin Kleffel designed and constructed the theatre Neue Flora in Hamburg in the years 1988/90. Counting a number of 1965 places it is one of the largest theatres in Germany.
In the context of the modernisation of the audience area and the stage room, the operator decided to install the energy efficient building automation system delivered by DEOS AG. Two powerfull OPEN 800 EMS controllers are integrated to control the room climate. The freely programmable OPENweb is configurated upon the operator’s needs.
Hospital Viransehir Devlet Hastanesi, Turkey
The Viransehir Devlet Hastanesi hospital was built in 2012 as a measure by the Turkish government to promote the structurally-weak region in the eastern Turkey near the Syrian border.
There are 200 beds in 5 floors covering an area of 35,700 m². State-of-the-art automation technology from DEOS AG controls all parameters from the fields of cooling, heating, the full air-conditioning system and surgical operations.
Steigenberger Hotel, Germany
Southwest of Berlin’s central station, the company CA-Immo, constructor of the “European City”, has invested 53 Mio € in a hotel building with eight floors. After less than two years the investors, who belong to the Steigenberger group, could welcome their first guests. The area of this five-star hotel, designed by architects Reichel + Stauth, covers 20,000 m² building area. The new building, which includes 412 rooms and has a natural stone facade, will be Germany´s largest “InterCity Hotel”.
Planner of this hotel want to achieve a “Green-Building-Certification” like Breaam for the project. In order to get this certificate, the construction of the hotel is controlled by energy-efficient building automation systems of DEOS AG.
Schools Zinzendorfschulen, Germany
The company Fiehn building automation and their partners were awarded with the „Trust Innovation Award” 2011 of the savings bank Schwarzwald-Baar. The reason for the award was the newly built school “Katharina-von-Gersdorf” as passive house. The project was supported with financial aid by the German Environment Foundation.
The digital automation system for the control and regulation of the heating-, ventilation- and air conditioning systems of the passive house project was made by DEOS AG.
A OPEN 700 EMS automation station was chosen as hardware. All physical and virtual control-technical data are recorded in user-defined time periods with the help of the building control system software OPENweb.
C&A Head office, Germany
The new C&A Head office was realised between 2005 and 2006 with a total floor space of 31,400 m² in the vicinity of the international Duesseldorf airport and with a total capital investment amount of 75 million Euros.
The building management system was delivered by DEOS Gebäudeautomation. In an ongoing project since 2013 DEOS Gebäudeautomation has been delivering modern control technology for the current enlargement of the office building.
Woertherseestadion is establisched between Klagenfurt and the Woerthersee in a wonderful landscape of mountain ranges and green hills. After 20 months of construction time the soccer stadium was completed punctually for the European Football Championship 2008.
To ensure an efficient and environmentally friendly use of energy, all light and ventilation systems were equipped with modern building control systems of DEOS AG.
Two OPEN 3000 EMS controller monitor and control over 928 physical data points, six ventilation systems and a range of air-conditioning units. The OPEN EMS installation also manages the complete and interactive arrangement for lighting and shutters for the whole arena. For this, every mains distributor point thoughout the large complex is monitored for faults, and this includes phase monitoring and assessment of fault current relays. Emergency power generation is also integrated into the comprehensive facility management system considering mains failures as well as peak-load reaction throughout the installation. Prerequisite therefore is the determination of the consumption data which will be acquire for the building control system via controller or PC.
Hotel Golserhof, Italy
This elegant hotel is surrounded by fruit trees, vineyards and a National Park. Besides the typical Merano cuisine, the four-star-hotel offers a relaxing massage with a comfortable and luxurious Wellness centre.
A OPEN 700 EMS automation station controls the hotel. This includes particularly:

Especially the high performance service water charging system ensures a comfort, which is expected by the guests of a hotel of this class. The winter sports tourists, who come back from skiing have the possibility to take a warm shower in their rooms at any time, regardless of the number of guests who use this service at the same time or the time of day. This ensures an intelligent control as well as the installation of a powerful automation station. The webserver OPENview allows remote maintenance via Internet.
adidas Distribution Center, Germany
In 2013, adidas put the company’s largest distribution center with a space of 55,000 m² into operation. It is located in the “Niedersachsenpark”, an industrial estate north of Osnabrück in Northern Germany.From there all processes and services for the brands adidas and reebok are executed and countries throughout Western Europe are supplied.
For the high-bay warehouse, the sorting workstations and the administration workplaces an optimum storage- and working temperature is needed. To achieve a good air quality at the workstations and in the social areas, the air exchange is conducted by four ventilation systems. For a perfect cooperation of the different types of media like air heaters, radiant ceiling panels, radiators and ventilation systems, measuring and control technology of DEOS was installed.
In the distribution centre around 800 data points are connected to 6 controllers of the series OPEN 600 EMS and OPEN 810 EMS with 54 OPEN IO modules. To be able to use an adidas BMS in the future, only BACnet controllers were installed. The switchpanels are connected to each other by fibre optic cables. For a comfortable and fully graphical operation, the switchpanels are equipped with a tablet PC. In addition, the web-based BMS-software OPENweb with its functional modules (logbook, event server, event control centre) is used. A second PC is installed in the gatekeeper area, from where the whole system can be used and monitored as well. This ensures a fast reaction on possible alarms at any time.
Shopping mall Plato, Turkey
The shopping mall “Plato” opened its doors in spring 2013. It is completely equipped with measuring and control technology of DEOS.
The building lies in the Asian part of Istanbul. The light and modern architecture of the shopping mall meets all modern requirements of technical building equipment realized by means of DEOS building technology.
Rossmann Drugstores, Germany
Since 2009 the drugstore chain Rossmann trusts in DEOS´s building automation technology. One main criteria for the decision to use DEOS products is the possibility of connecting the automation stations via internet as well as the clear visualization of the BMS.
By now some 1,000 Rossmann drugstores all over Europe are equipped with the general DEOS BMS. The use of this technique ensures the centralized energy management for the whole drugstore chain. High performing automation stations guarantee a verifiable and extensive energy optimization in the drugstores. The future drugstores, which are still in planning stages, will also be equipped with DEOS technology.
Hotel Villa Honegg, Switzerland
The Hotel Villa Honegg is a unique five-star hotel in the heart of Switzerland. The traditional real estate was built in 1905 and reopened in May 2011 after a total renovation. With its central location near the city of Lucerne and a height of 914 m above ground, it offers to its guests a unique panorama, which includes a view on the lake of Lucerne.
The exclusive and varying technical infrastructure of the Hotel Villa Honegg is controlled and regulated by the latest OPEN EMS system of DEOS AG. The combination of CORA room control units and SRU individual room controllers provides the highest possible comfort in the hotel rooms.
Ruhr University Bochum, Germany
The university was founded outside the city as a campus university in Bochum´s district Querenburg: Apart from a few branches, all faculties are situated at the campus.
In 2010, the newly constructed buildings ID and IDN were equipped with controllers from DEOS AG. The new energy management stations control all ventilation systems as well as the heat generation and cooling of the building. Furthermore, a single room control was realized to meet the different room requirements (e. g. for laboratories, measuring chambers, offices, auditoriums and canteen). In the different information points of the buildings ID and IDN in total 15 OPEN 4000 EMS (energy management station) and 6 OPEN 800 EMS were installed. Here around 12,000 physical in- and outputs are recorded.
Throughout the whole project 54,000 BACnet data points were created, from which currently 16,000 data points are connected via BACnet/OPC conversion to the existing campus building management system. The installed building management system allows an easy operation.
Flughafen Tower Frankfurt a. M., Germany
DEOS Gebäudeautomation GmbH installed a complete OPEN system of DEOS AG at Frankfurt airport tower. The German Air Traffic Control (ATC) was the building contractor.
The airport tower at Frankfurt a.M. is equipped with a fully redundant OPEN EMS system for the regulation of the ventilation system. In the event of any failure, a second automation station takes over as a hot standby to ensure air safety at any time.
DEOS AG offers the fully redundant system in hot standby as one of the very few manufacturers worldwide. The data of the airport Frankfurt are transferred online via “BACnet protocol” to the headquarters of the ATC in Langen.
SANA Hotel, Germany
In December 2010 the four star SANA Berlin Hotel opened its doors in the western city centre of Berlin with 208 rooms including 13 suites and 42 apartments.Energy management stations, room control units and a building management system provided by DEOS AG guarantee an ongoing optimization of energy consumption.
Furthermore, the whole system is connected to the Fidelio hotel booking system. Current information on the room’s occupancy contribute to achieve a high level of energy efficiency.
Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, Australia
The modernization of the HVAC-system of the art gallery was an interesting challenge for DEOS Australia: the system was 50% undersized, there was limited space for ductwork and no sensor should be visible on the walls.
In 2009 DEOS Australia installed the COBAOPT system (today: OPENdynamics) in the five gallery zones which are open to the common atrium. Hence the whole building has indirectly become a COBAOPT zone with excellent temperature and humidity conditions.
MAHAG Audi Zentrum, Germany
The MAHAG Audi Center was founded in 1923 as a family company and has grown up to a successful european automotive trading company.
The company also relies on the highest standards according to its building management system (BMS). The highest levels of profitability and an optimum of energy efficiency are achieved by the use of DEOS technology.
Health insurance DKV, Germany
DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung was founded in Berlin in 1927 and moved its head office to Cologne in 1954. DKV is one of the greatest private health insurances in Europe in the meantime and belongs to the ERGO Insurance Group since 1998.
Between 2008 and 2014, the headquarters, built in 1969, was completely restructured; as a result the HVAC systems, the pipes as well as the electrical and control technology have been renewed. DEOS Gebäudeautomation GmbH has managed the project during this period and equipped it with DEOS solutions. OPENbalance (today: OPENdynamics) ensures a comfortable room climate on all floors of the 20-floor building while reducing energy consumption. Also, OPENenergy helps to recognize and reduce energy costs. Furthermore, OPENweb regulates and controls the building management.
University Library, Germany
The Mannheim University and also the University Library were founded in 1967 and are resident in the Mannheim Palace, one of the oldest monuments in Mannheim. The lack of accessibility for handicapped people and technical deficits as well as functional deficits led to a fundamental restoration of the business administration library in the south wing of the Mannheim Palace. During the restoration phase the new systems were equipped with DEOS building automation.
For the air-conditioning a ventilation system without static heat areas was installed in all rooms. The energy-saving and highly efficient COBAOPT system (today: OPENdynamics) controls a total of 650 physical data points of the system. For the individual air-conditioning of each room 25 separately controllable zone heating elements were created. Due to a remarkable decrease of flow noises and a strong rejection of air turbulences the comfort could be increased considerably. In each room the room temperature, -humidity and –quality (CO2) is observed by sensors with the assistance of a differential pressure transducer. All physical and virtual technical control data are recorded in arbitrary time intervals with the DEOS BMS-software OPENweb. The software also observes the central fault- and alarm management system.
The museum started as the idea of one of the best known and very popular sons of this town – Udo Lindenberg. It manifests a musical movement with truly border-crossing effects. The complete renovated and newly furnished power turbine hall from 1895, which had served the former Mathieu van Delden textile plant, has been turned into an exhibition hall with a floor space of some 2.000 m².
Modern building automation ensures a pleasant climate in the whole building so that the visitors feel comfortable and take heir time to enjoy the permanent or special exhibitions and presentations. Full air-conditioning for all exhibition rooms, advanced room air management in side rooms, floor heating and static heating circuits guarantee a comfortable climate everywhere in the rock’n’popmuseum. At the same time OPEN 3000 EMS ensures optimized operating costs. All operating data are relayed to the PC, and the facility manager can supervise, monitor and control all building functions from his central location.
Life insurance ERGO, Germany
In a large-scale project, DEOS Gebäudeautomation GmbH renewed the building technology of ERGO Lebensversicherung AG, a subsidiary of the ERGO Group in Hamburg. The entire DDC (Direct Digital Control) technology was replaced in the administrative headquarters (HV) 1 and 2 as well as an energy optimisation system for the ventilation systems installed.
Due to the positive experiences from the reconstruction of HV2, the systems of HV1 were also equipped with DEOS technology. In addition, it was possible to comply with the requirements accordingly so that the office routine was not interrupted because the intermediate floors did not need to be replaced despite the energy optimisation system.
In accordance with the principle of open communication, the native BACnet controllers of the OPEN EMS series support the BACnet protocol and, thus, can communicate with other BACnet devices over the Ethernet network.
After the modernisation measures, the measurements of the new building technology have shown that it was possible to reduce the air volume flows of 1,800,000 m³/h to 800,000 m³/h. In addition, ERGO Lebensversicherung AG is able to save around 1 million Euro annually in energy costs through the new air-conditioning technology.
engelbert strauss GmbH & Co. KG, Germany
Modern architecture and creative design encounter advanced technology: the new company campus of the workwear manufacturer engelbert strauss was equipped with intelligent and energy-efficient building management systems of the DEOS building automation.
The whole energy management at the headquarters in Biebergemünd is regulated by DEOS building automation systems. The OPEN 4100 EMS as a redundant controller prevents the failure of the entire system, because in the event of a technical interruption a second controller will help out automatically. The easy to use touch user panels at all six information points offer the possibility to observe the system data and to adjust them to individual requirements of the visitors and employees.
Sport Center De Swaneburg, Netherlands
The indoor swimming pool in the sports center De Swaneburg in Coevorden had to be completely renovated in summer 2014 because of safety deficiencies in the building design. Due to the renovation costs and the budget cutbacks, the management searched for the possibility to reduce the operating costs permanently. The DEOS cost control technology for ventilation systems OPENbalance (today: OPENdynamics) has proved to be the best solution for this project.
The old ventilation systems have been preserved and equipped with frequency controllers. By means of these controllers OPENdynamics can set the ventilation so that the most cost-effective operating point will be achieved. Consequently, OPENdynamics ensures reduced energy consumption and savings cost. At the same time, it guarantees a pleasant room climate and improved air quality.
Al Mushrif Mosque, United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and belongs to the most modern cities of the world because of the rapid growth over the last 30 years from a small island town to metropolis of 2.5 million inhabitants. The cityscape is characterized by distinctive skyscrapers and traditional buildings.
The Al Mushrif Mosque in the central neighborhood Al Mushrif emphasizes the Abu Dhabi’s modern character not only because of its unusual square style instead of rounded off shapes, but also because of the use of DEOS building management systems to regulate the ventilation and cooling applications. The OPEN 500 EMS adjusts the air conditioning automatically, thus ensuring a comfortable climate in the pray room during the summer heat. Furthermore, the applications can be controlled and adjusted to individual requirements by the touch user panel at user level.
Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome, Netherlands
The aviation theme park was founded in Schiphol (NED) in 1971 under the name “Aviodme” and has been located in the area of Lelystad Airport since 2003. In the aviation museum the visitors can have look at different aircraft exhibits of the Dutch aviation history.
In the museum building of the Aviodrome there is a large conference room, which is used for lectures and events. To ensure a good room climate and to eliminate uncomfortable draft the complete ventilation system was reequipped with the DEOS control technology OPENbalance (today: OPENdynamics)– with integrated Bosch technology. OPENbalance creates a balance between supply and extract air (volume flow balance) and uses the molecular gas flow of the air molecules to spread the air in the conference room (diffusion instead of ventilation). As a result, the room climate becomes noticeably more agreeable because the isolate air layers remain intact. OPENbalance with its new control concept always adjusts the ventilation system to the most cost-effective operating point and thus ensures significant energy and cost savings for the Aviodrome.

The foundation stone of Hells Holiday Resort in the mountains of Tyrol was laid almost 60 years ago. Since then the camp in Fugen in Zillertal has been grown up into an extensive holiday paradise with comfortable apartments and chalets as well as a large camp ground with about 200 sites.
The holiday resort was modernized in 2014 and equipped with a new modern heating system. The DEOS building management system regulates OPENweb and controls this new power plant, which supplies the whole camp. By means of the new system and the energy-efficient control through the DEOS building automation, Hells Holiday Resort can save 373,000 kWh a year of energy as well as the associated costs and the environment at the same time.
Riga Castle, Latvia
Riga Castle was founded by the Livonian Order in 1330. Since the regained independence of Latvia it is served as the residence of the Latvian president.
Over a period of nearly 1.5 years the building systems of the 11,000 m² castle has been modernized and equipped with modern DEOS technology. The whole system is controlled and regulated by the user-friendly building management system OPENweb. The control units in the different rooms allow individual adjustments of the HVAC system.
TV studio NOS, Netherlands
NOS is Holland’s largest news organization. It is a public service broadcasting organization, providing independent news and sports reporting, etc. NOS operates its own production studios.
In 2015, the news studio, including the interconnected control rooms were updated with the DEOS AG products OPENbalance (today: OPENdynamics) and two BACnet controllers OPEN 810/12 EMS. These measures considerably increased the conditions of this specific room situation:
for example, the air speed inside the studios spanning 4,000 qm was optimized as contracted to eliminate all drafts. In addition, the high temperatures caused by the technical equipment inside the studios were reduced to a comfortable level for the employees and studio guests. The ventilation and humidification system were also replaced. The NOS broadcasting company was able to smoothly continue its operations throughout the entire expansion project which entailed approx. 200 data points.
Hotel Victory, Therme Erding, Germany
The Erding thermal springs, with its adjacent open air pool, sets itself apart from average recreation activities with its spectacular hotel complex. The Victory hotel boasts a meticulously-maintained nautical decor and together with the Venetian palazzo, offers a total of 128 guest rooms. This makes each guest in the noble cabins feel like he is on a luxury yacht or a windjammer.
DEOS AG enhanced these luxuriously furnished hotel rooms with a comprehensive single room solution featuring a FCU, central ventilation and OPENweb. Each hotel room is equipped with a FCU unit that together with the central supply air and extract air installation ensures a pleasant stay. A particularly special highlight here is the interaction between the DEOS products and the “Sihot” hotel management software. It allows the implementation of a wide range of scenarios, such as fresh air circulation. In addition, every guest can operate a user tablet on the room wall to control the lighting and shading as well as the temperature and ventilation. A special app was developed to operate this tablet. It communicates with the controller over a special security concept. It also provides technicians with remote access to the control units and single room solutions.
All these comprehensive and state-of-the-art room functions ensure that every hotel guest can enjoy maximum comfort at all times. They of course also provide the operator with energy-optimized, straightforward options for handling the complex technical building systems.
Energy supplier EGAT, Thailand
The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, in short EGAT, is Thailand’s leading energy supplier. The state-owned company is responsible for the electrical power generation and transfer for the entire country. EGAT is also responsible for selling electricity. Electrical devices are tested in its in-house laboratories according to the Thai standard.
The building’s HVAC system consists of a total of 3 water-cooled refrigeration systems that are controlled by an OPEN 810/5. In addition, the laboratory’s fresh air supply is ensured by a fresh air system. This fresh air system is controlled by an OPEN 600/5 so that the outside air supply can be ideally adjusted depending on the conditions of the individual rooms.
Furthermore, the laboratory rooms are equipped with 21 FCU controllers and thermostats. A particular challenge with this building was integrating the humidity control in connection with the adjusted air pressure in the laboratories to achieve the perfect indoor climate conditions.
The entire building is controlled via 2 tablet PCs. All system data can be called up at any time by accessing the OPENview web server. This also makes it possible for technicians to access the systems remotely.
Thanks to the integrated application of BACnet and Modbus, all used subsystems can easily and smoothly communicate with each other.
University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany
The university clinic of Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) is one of the most modern clinics in Europe. More than 10,000 specialised staff in many different specialties find ideal conditions for the medical, research and teaching sectors. With around 1,500 beds, the UKE is one of the largest hospitals in Hamburg.
Jungheinrich AG, Germany
Jungheinrich AG is one of the world’s three largest providers in the material handling, warehousing and material flow equipment sectors. The company is particularly distinguished in the storage technology and is thus market leader in Europe.
Airport Tower Berlin Brandenburg, Germany
The site of the new Berlin Brandenburg airport includes the third-highest airport tower (72 metres) in Germany. This provides space for 11 employees and has been in operation since 25th March, 2012. Besides the control tower turret, the tower accommodates the site management, guest lounges, a relaxation area, changing facilities with shower, briefing and conference rooms and a fitness room.
Airport Antalya, Turkey
With its three runways for takeoff and landing, Antalya airport has Turkey’s second-highest passenger volume (25 million passengers every year). The airport offers a total of 670 different connections and 108 different airlines. Globally, that is the highest number of destinations.
Cultural centre Villa Hügel, Germany
The property of the Krupp family, the 269 rooms and 8,100 qm living space of Villa Hügel was formerly the backdrop for presentations, receptions and festivities as well as visits by emperors and kings from all over the world since 1873. Today, the building hosts a historical permanent exhibition on the Krupp family and provides space for events, concerts and exhibitions.
Commercial property at Freiburg’s main railway station, Germany
Today, the Freiburger main station presents itself not only as a pure station building, but also as a multifunctional service centre with office and medical practices, retailers and gastronomy. With a total area of around 32,000 m², the station complex is the largest commercial property in Freiburg.
Ehrmann AG, Germany
The family-run dairy business has developed in its almost 100 years of company history to one of the leading dairies in Germany. Now, production is carried out at 7 different international sites and the products in more than 50 countries.
Industrial Museum Zeche Zollern, Germany
The Zeche Zollern in Dortmund is one of eight museum sites of the decentralised LWL Industrial Museum. In its permanent exhibition, it shows products of Germany’s industrial past. Here, the visitors are given information on the history of the mine, the workers and the dangers.
Office and hotel building OKZITAN, Germany
The OKZITAN building in Düsseldorf houses a hotel of the B&B hotel chain with 99 rooms. The building also hosts an office with a gross floor area of around 3,000 m².
Bathing complex Euskirchen, Germany
Spread over approximately 18,000 m², visitors to the thermal spa and swimming pool complex in Euskirchen can enjoy several different pool landscapes and saunas. There is also an outdoor facility and a palm tree paradise with more than 500 real palm trees.
Ministry PAI, Kuwait
The PAI (Public Authority of Industry) in Kuwait City was upgraded with the latest DEOS technology. During this project, all the products at the building automation level were replaced with DEOS products.
The project was divided into two phases. In a first step HVAC and light management system as well as the CO monitoring system were upgraded to the DEOS system. During the second phase, all AHU’s were equipped with frequency converters and the existing HVAC system was modified into a VAV system (DEOS BACnet VAV controllers) to achieve maximum energy efficiency. Finally, the chiller plant were connected to the DEOS building management system via BACnet IP to provide an overview of all consumptions and system information. The team in Kuwait successfully and smoothly completed the project while the building was fully operational.
The ministry’s entire main building as well as 7 of its other subsidiaries are now controlled and monitored via BMS Software OPENweb. In addition to the installed BMS server, the service staff are also equipped with Android tablets featuring the OPENweb App enabling them to work from anywhere.
Museum of History of Islamic Science (MHIS), Oman
With a space of 4,000 qm that is also used as a conference and exhibition hall, the museum borders the German Technical University of Oman (GUtech). The history of islamic science and current teaching & research are interlinked with one another in the building.
The high temperatures in Oman presented a special challenge. DEOS BACnet controllers of the 810 series and decentralised FCU control units ensure a pleasant atmosphere throughout the museum. They provide intelligent control of the ventilation systems and the fan coil units. The higher-level monitoring of the entire system is displayed by the DEOS OPENweb building management system. In addition, alarm management is also implemented here. Intuitive operation and visualisation takes place on a 10″ touch display on the switch cabinet, as well as via a central server and the client PCs that are connected with it.
Besides the ventilation systems, the video monitoring system (CCTV), the lifts, the sub power supplies and the facade lighting, etc. controlled by DMX are connected to the DEOS system.
P&G Factory, Vietnam
The P&G Factory in Dong An IP, Binh Duong is the third largest factory of Procter and Gamble Group in Vietnam.
The HVAC system at the plant consist of 4 chillers, 17 AHUs and numerous VAVs. The existing BMS system is lacking in functions and very unstable, which makes it difficult to operate the building efficient. Based on the customer requirements, the system was upgraded with DEOS OPEN EMS Controllers and OPENweb BMS system to manage the whole HVAC system with reasonable costs based on the existing system.
Business and residential building Remax Plaza, Vietnam
The Remax Plaza in Hoh Chi Minh, Vietnam is a complex project consisting of commercial Center and residential buildings, totaling 28 floors with a floor area of 1,500 m2.
The DEOS AG provides the complete building management system to manage and control the whole mechanical and electrical facilities, including the Chiller System, FCUs, AHUs, Pumps etc.
The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, China
The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, established by Government Ordinance in 1984, is a leading tertiary institution in performing arts in Asia. It provides professional undergraduate education and practice-based postgraduate studies. The academy encompasses Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music and Theatre and Entertainment Arts. Its educational philosophy reflects the cultural diversity of Hong Kong with emphasis on Chinese and western traditions, and interdisciplinary learning.
DEOS provided the complete Building Management System for this iconic project – OPENweb, OPEN EMS controllers and single room units together with more than 200 DEOS VAV controllers which are integrated via BACnet. Furthemore DEOS provided aswell all required Sensors for the HVAC equipment.
This project was executed by one of our local partners in conjunction with DEOS China, which is based in Hong Kong.
Office building Ernst & Young, Israel
As part of the midtown project in Tel Aviv, the new office building of Ernst & Young was constructed on 34,000 m². The modern offices extend across a total of 16 of the 50 floors, providing the employees with optimum conditions.
14 OPEN 810 EMS controllers integrate more than 560 FCU controllers with a total of 9,000 data points over the 16 floors. Hosted on the internal web server of the OPEN 810, the OPENview HTML 5 user interface from DEOS presents system graphics, trend, alarm and commissioning tools.
Central Park Hotel, Vietnam
Central Park Hotel is located in the town of Bien Hoa, Dong Nai province in Vietnam. With its exclusive equipment furnishings and fittings, it’s the first hotel in the province to be awarded 5 stars. It has more than 200 rooms spread over 22 storeys. In addition, a 6,000 m² event centre is integrated for weddings, conferences or other events. The entire system is connected to the SMILE hotel booking system, so that all rooms are optimally controlled by current room occupancy information.
Pharmaceutical factory Hoang Duc Pharma, Vietnam
The largest pharmaceutical distributor in Vietnam, the Hoang Duc Company, has built its biggest pharmaceutical warehouse. The warehouse covers a total area of 17,000 square metres. The installation includes 2 chillers, 12 ventilation systems and many other HVAC devices. DEOS AG provides the complete building management system for the management of the entire mechanical and electrical system with more than 200 physical data points.
Residential building tower LUX 6 Vinhome Golden River, Vietnam
The new residential area Vinhome Golden River, in which the residential building LUX 6 is situated, was created on a plot of 25.29 hectares. 1-3 room apartments, a Bürotel and penthouses are accommodated on 50 floors. In addition to this and other residential towers, the newly built residential area is home to schools, sports centres, restaurants, shopping centres, parkland and a marina. DEOS AG supplied the energy management system (heat meters and water meters) for the LUX 6 tower.
High-rise complex Landmark 81, Vietnam
Landmark 81 is the tallest building in Vietnam, with 461.5 metres and 81 stories, and the 14th tallest building in the world. It forms the centrepiece of the newly built residential quarter in Ho Chi Minh City. The high-rise complex includes hotel and conference rooms as well as luxury apartments, retail space, restaurants and a viewing platform at the top of the tower. DEOS AG supplied the energy management system (heat meters and water meters) for this project.

Innovative building automation has found a new home: the DEOS headquarters in Rheine. Since the late summer 2014 the latest technologies around building technology has been developed and produced in one of the most modern office and training buildings in Europe. At the same time the new headquarters demonstrates the comprehensive DEOS product portfolio.
The software application OPENapp DALI controls all the multicolored LED lights in the building complex, so that the temperature range of the light adjusts to the human biorhythm throughout the day. Furthermore, the control technology for ventilation systems OPENdynamics ensures the perfect room climate in all offices and conference rooms.
The entire building technology is controlled by the building management system OPENweb and can be operated using PCs, tablet and smartphone apps so that conventional switches are no longer needed on the walls.
Hilton Hotel, United Arab Emirates
Hilton Hotels & Resorts is a brand oft he Hilton Hotels Corporation and has more than 550 Hotels in 80 countries worldwide. Therefore, the Hilton hotels belong to the third largest hotel chain of the world. Hilton Abu Dhabi is located at the Corniche road in the center of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The 327 hotel rooms offer not only the view to the skyline of Abu Dhabi, but also the sea view to the Persian Gulf.
On behalf of the Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), modernization measures were taken in the whole hotel complex. As a result, the old building management system for ventilation and cooling systems was replaced with innovative DEOS building automation systems.
IKEA Furniture Stores, Germany
Since the opening of the first IKEA furniture store in the near of Munich in October 1974, the furniture chain, founded in Sweden in 1943, has developed into a major player of the German furniture sector.
With the construction of the largest IKEA branch of Germany in Berlin-Lichtenberg IKEA Verwaltungs GmbH decided for the energy-efficient building automation of DEOS AG. Since 2010 several IKEA furniture stores throughout Germany were therefore equipped with DEOS technology. Thus, the head office in Hofheim-Wallau can monitor and control the systems of these branches from a distance through the building management system OPENweb.
Therme Erding bathing complex, Germany
The Therme Erding is the world’s largest thermal water spa with a total area of 180,000 m² and around 1.6 million visitors every year. The thermal spa uses state-approved curative geothermal water.
