Al Mushrif Mosque
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and is one of the most modern and wealthiest cities in the world due to its rapid growth from a small island city to a metropolis of millions (approx. 2.5 million inhabitants) in the last 30 years. The cityscape is characterised by striking high-rises and traditional buildings.
The Al Mushrif Mosque in the central Al Mushrif district underlines the modern character of Abu Dhabi not only by its unusual angular design instead of rounded shapes, but also by the use of DEOS building management systems to regulate the ventilation and cooling systems. Via the OPEN 500 EMS, the air-conditioning systems are automatically adjusted so that a pleasantly cool climate prevails in the prayer room even in the very hot summer months. Via the touch user panel, the systems are additionally controlled at user level by the imam of the mosque and adapted to individual needs.
