In the banking sector in particular, the security of sensitive data is a top priority. The DEOS Cloud solution Secure Network meets the highest security standards in building automation. For this reason, and due to the demonstrable cost savings, Sparkasse Münsterland Ost opted for the comprehensive DEOS solutions.

The bank’s outdated building management system no longer met the latest security standards, meaning it could no longer guarantee operational security. To eliminate the need for server hardware, installation and update processes, and specialized personnel for maintenance and service, the bank opted for OPENweb Cloud. The bank’s BMS is now integrated into the

DEOS Cloud and hosted in DEOS’s own data center. Additionally, the OPENweb BMS is always up to date, as all updates and upgrades are included free of charge. This ensures that the building management system always meets the latest security standards.

Verifiable cost savings with the secure DEOS networking solution for building automation

Currently, nine buildings belonging to Sparkasse Münster Ost—including the Warendorf service center, the head office, and several branches around Münster—are connected to the cloud via the DEOS Connect-Box’s plug-and-play solution. The old IT networking technology, which was no longer secure due to its age, was completely replaced as a result. The

new features and ease of use (establishing connections, user management, or HVAC alarm management) have impressed the building services team.

In addition to the aforementioned cloud-based building management system (GLT), the components of the DEOS building automation system control more than 300 rooms via the SRU (Single Room Unit) solution. Lighting control in the rooms is handled via KNX. Other systems, such as pumps, heat meters, electricity meters, and chillers, were integrated into the DEOS OPEN EMS platform via M-Bus, MODBUS, and KNX. If necessary, the Sparkasse’s service staff can remotely access the properties’ systems and handle the service call. In the event of more serious malfunctions, DEOS experts can also provide remote support.

DEOS AG also provides maintenance for the entire system as a service: For example, GLT software updates are installed automatically, allowing Sparkasse Münsterland Ost to save on personnel resources. GLT backups are included in the DEOS maintenance contract, as are remote security updates for the Connect Boxes used for site connectivity. Additionally, all modular extensions, such as the OPENweb Event Control Center or the event server, are included free of charge.
