Alfred Brehm House Berlin Zoo
DEOS building automation ensures climate control in the Alfred Brehm House
The historic Alfred Brehm House in Berlin Zoo dates back to the 1960s and is a listed building. Due to extensive renovation work, the house was closed for around two years and reopened in mid-2020. With its 5,000 square meters, the Alfred Brehm House is Berlin’s largest jungle.
Due to the strict regulations and requirements of listed building status, the renovation was also very complex in terms of building automation. The special climatic conditions for the animals and plants living there also posed a particular challenge for climate control. By using the DDC controller OPEN 810/12 EMS and the DEOS building management system OPENweb, it was possible to meet the requirements of both the listed building and the flora and fauna.
