A black BMS screen as a turning point – the economic step into the cloud

“One morning, the BMS monitor (building management system) simply went black – nothing worked.” This is how Jürgen Schön, Head of Maintenance at RELIUS Farbenwerke GmbH, remembers the moment in 2019 that triggered the building automation modernization project.

The total failure of the old BMS PCs paralyzed the existing operation and control of the heating system. After a long troubleshooting process, it was clear that a defective hard disk had paralysed the system and the data was irrevocably lost. This experience was not to be repeated. RELIUS therefore began to fundamentally modernize the entire building control and automation system and set it up securely for the future.
