Museum of History of Islamic Science (MHIS)
The 4,000 sqm museum, which also serves as a conference and exhibition hall, is adjacent to the German Oman University of Technology (GUtech). In the building, the history of Islamic science and current teaching & research are combined.
The high temperatures in Oman posed a special challenge. DEOS BACnet Series 810 controllers and decentralised FCU control units ensure a pleasant climate throughout the museum. These provide intelligent control of the ventilation systems and the fan coil units. The higher-level monitoring of the entire system is mapped via the DEOS OPENweb building management system. Alarm management is also implemented here. The intuitive operation and visualisation takes place on the one hand via a 10 inch touch display on the control cabinet, and on the other hand via a central server and connected client PCs.
In addition to the ventilation systems, the video surveillance system (CCTV), the lifts, the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and the façade lighting controlled via DMX are also connected to the DEOS system.
