Al Mushrif Mosque

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and belongs to the most modern cities of the world because of the rapid growth over the last 30 years from a small island town to metropolis of 2.5 million inhabitants. The cityscape is characterized by distinctive skyscrapers and traditional buildings.

The Al Mushrif Mosque in the central neighborhood Al Mushrif emphasizes the Abu Dhabi’s modern character not only because of its unusual square style instead of rounded off shapes, but also because of the use of DEOS building management systems to regulate the ventilation and cooling applications. The OPEN 500 EMS adjusts the air conditioning automatically, thus ensuring a comfortable climate in the pray room during the summer heat. Furthermore, the applications can be controlled and adjusted to individual requirements by the touch user panel at user level.

Museum of History of Islamic Science (MHIS)

With a space of 4,000 qm that is also used as a conference and exhibition hall, the museum borders the German Technical University of Oman (GUtech). The history of islamic science and current teaching & research are interlinked with one another in the building.

The high temperatures in Oman presented a special challenge. DEOS BACnet controllers of the 810 series and decentralised FCU control units ensure a pleasant atmosphere throughout the museum. They provide intelligent control of the ventilation systems and the fan coil units. The higher-level monitoring of the entire system is displayed by the DEOS OPENweb building management system. In addition, alarm management is also implemented here. Intuitive operation and visualisation takes place on a 10″ touch display on the switch cabinet, as well as via a central server and the client PCs that are connected with it.

Besides the ventilation systems, the video monitoring system (CCTV), the lifts, the sub power supplies and the facade lighting, etc. controlled by DMX are connected to the DEOS system.

rock´n´popmuseum

rock´n´popmuseum

The museum started as the idea of one of the best known and very popular sons of this town – Udo Lindenberg. It manifests a musical movement with truly border-crossing effects. The complete renovated and newly furnished power turbine hall from 1895, which had served the former Mathieu van Delden textile plant, has been turned into an exhibition hall with a floor space of some 2.000 m².

Modern building automation ensures a pleasant climate in the whole building so that the visitors feel comfortable and take heir time to enjoy the permanent or special exhibitions and presentations. Full air-conditioning for all exhibition rooms, advanced room air management in side rooms, floor heating and static heating circuits guarantee a comfortable climate everywhere in the rock’n’popmuseum. At the same time OPEN 3000 EMS ensures optimized operating costs. All operating data are relayed to the PC, and the facility manager can supervise, monitor and control all building functions from his central location.

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, established by Government Ordinance in 1984, is a leading tertiary institution in performing arts in Asia. It provides professional undergraduate education and practice-based postgraduate studies. The academy encompasses Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music and Theatre and Entertainment Arts. Its educational philosophy reflects the cultural diversity of Hong Kong with emphasis on Chinese and western traditions, and interdisciplinary learning.

DEOS provided the complete Building Management System for this iconic project – OPENweb, OPEN EMS controllers and single room units together with more than 200 DEOS VAV controllers which are integrated via BACnet. Furthemore DEOS provided aswell all required Sensors for the HVAC equipment.

This project was executed by one of our local partners in conjunction with DEOS China, which is based in Hong Kong.

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre

The modernization of the HVAC-system of the art gallery was an interesting challenge for DEOS Australia: the system was 50% undersized, there was limited space for ductwork and no sensor should be visible on the walls.

In 2009 DEOS Australia installed the COBAOPT system (today: OPENdynamics) in the five gallery zones which are open to the common atrium. Hence the whole building has indirectly become a COBAOPT zone with excellent temperature and humidity conditions.

Theatre Neue Flora

Theatre Neue Flora

The two architects Uwe Köhnholdt and Konstantin Kleffel designed and constructed the theatre Neue Flora in Hamburg in the years 1988/90. Counting a number of 1965 places it is one of the largest theatres in Germany.

In the context of the modernisation of the audience area and the stage room, the operator decided to install the energy efficient building automation system delivered by DEOS AG. Two powerfull OPEN 800 EMS controllers are integrated to control the room climate. The freely programmable OPENweb is configurated upon the operator’s needs.

Riga Castle

Riga Castle

Riga Castle was founded by the Livonian Order in 1330. Since the regained independence of Latvia it is served as the residence of the Latvian president.

Over a period of nearly 1.5 years the building systems of the 11,000 m² castle has been modernized and equipped with modern DEOS technology. The whole system is controlled and regulated by the user-friendly building management system OPENweb. The control units in the different rooms allow individual adjustments of the HVAC system.

Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome

Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome

The aviation theme park was founded in Schiphol (NED) in 1971 under the name “Aviodme” and has been located in the area of Lelystad Airport since 2003. In the aviation museum the visitors can have look at different aircraft exhibits of the Dutch aviation history.

In the museum building of the Aviodrome there is a large conference room, which is used for lectures and events. To ensure a good room climate and to eliminate uncomfortable draft the complete ventilation system was reequipped with the DEOS control technology OPENbalance (today: OPENdynamics)– with integrated Bosch technology. OPENdynamics creates a balance between supply and extract air (volume flow balance) and uses the molecular gas flow of the air molecules to spread the air in the conference room (diffusion instead of ventilation). As a result, the room climate becomes noticeably more agreeable because the isolate air layers remain intact. OPENdynamics with its new control concept always adjusts the ventilation system to the most cost-effective operating point and thus ensures significant energy and cost savings for the Aviodrome.
