World’s first BACnet/SC controller

As the first BACnet/SC controller, the OPEN.WRX AS makes it possible to encrypt BACnet networks in order to operate buildings more securely in the future. Particularly in existing buildings with outdated building automation systems, it makes sense to use the OPEN.WRX controller as a BACnet/SC hub and thus secure the entire building automation network via BACnet/SC. BACnet routing from BACnet IP and BACnet MS/TP to BACnet/SC is free of charge. Now you can also encrypt your projects with the new OPEN.WRX AS – building automation has never been so secure.

Efficient system integration in 4 steps

Simply flexible

The new licence model provides maximum flexibility for using the OPEN.WRX controller. The main components are global data points that are freely selectable for protocol connections such as BACnet Client, Modbus Master, KNX or M-Bus. Changes to the protocol connections can therefore be implemented flexibly and at any time. Furthermore, it is possible to create smaller connections and connection tests in the project without purchasing data point licences, since 25 of these global data points are already included with the purchase of the OPEN.WRX controller.

OPEN.WRX AS is programmed using OPEN FXL 4 and is compatible with DEOS BMS/MCU OPENweb from version 10. Furthermore, the DEOS macro libraries can be used for programming in the usual way. In terms of the hardware, the existing CAN IO modules are compatible with the OPEN.WRX system. A detailed compatibility list will be available to download from the DEOS Portal from mid-August.

DEOS Portal

OPEN FXL 4 is used for programming the OPEN.WRX AS. It is therefore not necessary to learn how to use a new engineering tool. OPEN.WRX AS is also compatible with the existing DEOS macro libraries. A detailed compatibility list will be available to download from the DEOS Portal from mid-August.

Yes, mixed operation of the two controller generations is possible within a project.

With the OPEN.WRX series, a common licence for the system integration of BACnet Client, Modbus Master, KNX and M-Bus can be acquired. This means that a global data point can be used for the project planning of the four protocol connections mentioned. It is then possible to switch between the protocols at any time.

A global data point licence stands for:

  • 1 BACnet client object or
  • 1 active Modbus master data point or
  • 1 KNX data point or
  • 1 M-Bus meter.

For our system partners, all relevant documents for the OPEN.WRX series such as data sheets, tender documents, price lists, certificates, etc. can be found in the DEOS Portal. For an overview of the available documents you only need to set the filters Product family (controllers) and Product group (OPEN.WRX AS) accordingly.
